Sales & Marketing
Our Sales and Marketing teams are essential to the close partnerships that we forge with our customers. We place a real emphasis on listening to our customers – ensuring that we understand their business and how best we can support them. We build dynamic, flexible relationships that ensure customers get exactly what they need – both now and in the future. We operate in an extensive range of markets and our own portfolio of products, services and supply chain solutions is equally expansive. Our Sales and Marketing team have an extensive knowledge of our business, our customers and the markets in which we operate. It’s an environment where commercially minded individuals who can deliver excellent customer experience can thrive.
Our Supply Chain Management team tends the relationships and controls the flow of materials, information and resources throughout our network. It’s not just about moving things from A to B. Our success hinges on the ability to understand and balance the demands of internal stakeholders and external customers, whilst nurturing sustainable relationships with our partners. Our Supply Chain professionals work on a pan-European basis, pulling together our Sales & Marketing, Technical and Operations functions. Crucially, they also drive process enhancements and Quality Assurance, ensuring that through-chain improvements to delivery performance, cost, and use of working capital are at the top of the agenda.
Tata Steel has the second largest distribution and service network in Europe, with service centres in the UK, Germany, the Netherlands, France and Spain, Norway, Sweden and Finland. At our Steelpark distribution site in Wolverhampton, there are four Tata Steel Distribution businesses, supplying our products to sectors including Automotive, Construction, Lifting & Excavating, and Office Furniture/Enclosure. Steelpark is also home to our highly successful Commercial function, which identifies target markets within the UK to which Tata Steel products can be marketed. Colleagues in this area gain exposure to our Operations, Customer Service and Commercial functions, which work together to supply diverse steel products to the UK engineering industry. Our people are experts in account management and planning, negotiation and selling value, customer service and relationship building, market insight and market strategy.
HR & Communications
Our greatest asset is our people and ensuring that we have the right people with the relevant skills in the right positions, fully engaged with the company is no mean feat. Our Human Resources team ensures that the business attracts, supports, develops and retains the finest people in the industry and our Comms teams use best practise communications skills, vehicles and message-management in order to maximise levels of employee and community engagement with the vision and mission of Tata Steel in Europe, direction, and motivation of employees that drives business performance.
Our HR & Communications professionals are highly developed project managers, who contribute to the implementation of a variety of initiatives including employee communication, stakeholder engagement and organisational development. Their remit, which ranges from Employee Relations in HR, to Sponsorship or Public Relations in Communications , sees them using the latest technology to analyse data, identify strategic goals and explore new ways to impact on the broader success of the company.

Our Finance Business Partners are spread throughout the group and their expert advice guides and informs strategic and operational decision-making across all of our functions. Our in-house specialists operate across every financial discipline, including Business Reporting & Planning, Reporting & Group Control, Taxation, Internal Audit, Treasury and Mergers & Acquisitions.
We work with a network of over 5,000 suppliers globally, covering an extensive range of goods and services such as raw materials, energy, fleet and logistics services, IT services, and professional services. Our Procurement professionals manage our external spend with a global network of over 5,000 partners and suppliers. And, as they develop sustainable and productive relationships with our suppliers, they also explore every opportunity to increase cost effectiveness and drive efficiencies, ensuring that our organisation benefits from continuous improvement and remains focused on longer term goals.
