Industrially supported PhD projects

Tata Steel supports a range of post graduate research including metallurgy, processing, surfaces and coatings, environment, safety and engineering.

To support this activity, the EPSRC grants Tata Steel an annual allocation of Industrial CASE PhD studentships whereby the student receives a financial top-up from the company. These projects are negotiated between the company and relevant universities.

Tata Steel also has a large Eng.Doc programme at the University of Wales. In The Netherlands, Tata Steel has a large post-graduate scheme within the M2i programme.
