Helen Matheson
Helen Matheson was appointed as Director Legal, Tata Steel Europe and a member of the Tata Steel Europe Executive Committee from 1 May 2009.
Previously, she was Head of Profession and Legal Director, Markets at the Office of Gas & Electricity Markets (Ofgem), the UK energy regulator. Prior to this, Helen worked in private practice for a firm in the City of London, and has worked in legal practice overseas in Brussels and in Philadelphia. She is specialised in corporate and competition laws.
Helen graduated with an LLB Hons from the University of Glasgow, and has a Masters degree in International and Comparative Laws from the Free University of Brussels. She holds a dual legal qualification in English and Scots law. She is 45, married, and has a son and a daughter.
