Tata Steel will save 10 million cubic metres of gas at year – enough to power 5,500 homes – at its IJmuiden plant in the Netherlands through the use of newly installed heat-retention boxes.

Tata Steel has joined the select group of companies supplying material to PSA Peugeot Citroën to be awarded with Core Supplier status by the French car manufacturer. Jean-Baptiste Formery, Executive Director - Purchasing Vehicle Components at PSA Peugeot Citroën, made the award at a presentation at Tata Steel’s IJmuiden plant in the Netherlands last week.

Tata Steel has restarted its second blast furnace at the Port Talbot steelworks in the UK following the completion of a £185 million rebuilding project. The restarting of Blast Furnace No. 4 – the UK’s largest industrial engineering project last year – will improve Tata Steel’s operational flexibility and enable it to better serve customers in the UK and the rest of Europe.
