    Tata Steel, Europe’s second-largest steel supplier, has today announced the opening of its new £11m state-of-the-art heavy-gauge hot-rolled decoiling line in Llanwern, South Wales. Part of a steel service centre with a hot-rolled processing capability of 270,000 tonnes a year, this new line is the largest in Europe in terms of both capability and quality, providing ample capacity to meet customer requirements now and in the future.

    New hot-dip ZnMg pot for coating extra-large automotive sheet steel

    Tata Steel, Europe’s second-largest steel maker, has integrated MagiZinc – an innovative zinc and magnesium (ZnMg) coating technology – into its widest hot-dip galvanising line. The DVL3 line, based in Ijmuiden, Netherlands, can now coat up to 400,000 tonnes of steel sheet, in widths of up to 2020 mm. By optimising the production process in this way Tata Steel will be able to better serve the needs of its automotive clients.

    Tata Steel Group today declared its Consolidated Financial Results for the first half and second quarter ended September 30, 2014. Performance remained stable as Group Turnover and EBITDA came in at Rs. 35,777 crores and Rs. 3,750 crores respectively. Net profit for the quarter was Rs. 1,254 crores.

    Tata Steel Group today declared its Consolidated Financial Results for the nine months and third quarter ended December 31, 2013. The positive earnings momentum continued even in a seasonally weak period as the Group net profits for the third quarter came in at Rs.503 crores compared to the net loss of Rs.763 crores in the previous year while the net profit for the first nine months of this year was Rs.2,559 crores compared to the loss of Rs.529 crores in the first nine months of the previous year.
