    HyperForm® grades are significantly more formable than their standard equivalents. The enhanced formability enables the design of more complex parts that are lighter and have better functionality and/or superior aesthetics.

    HyperForm products can be found within the AHSS product range and among the formable steels and meet the requirements of the VDA239-100 norm as described in the so-called ‘DH’ and ‘CR’ product ranges.



     

    • Lightweighting opportunities

      DP800-GI HyperForm is a ductile, high-strength steel. It allows lightweighting of complex, structural components with no loss of crash performance.

      Lightweighting with DP800-GI HyperForm can reduce CO2 emissions over a vehicle’s life cycle when compared with conventional steels.

    • Dynamic styling

      Extra formable DX57-GI HyperForm has very good deep drawing and stretching properties in all directions.

      It allows robust processing of stylish outer panels with complex shapes such as sharp feature lines and extra deep sections.

    • Improved press shop yield

      With higher elongation levels, our HyperForm grades are significantly more formable than their standard equivalents.

      This allows robust processing – with lower rejection rates, less downtime and improved press shop yield.

    Overview

    The HyperForm® range includes CR DP800-GI HyperForm, a ductile high-strength steel at 800MPa strenght level, enabling lightweighting of complex, structural components with no loss of crash performance. Analysis shows that lightweighting with CR DP800-GI HyperForm could reduce CO2 emissions over a vehicle’s life cycle when compared with conventional steels, against a neutral cost penalty. The HyperForm range is currently being expanded towards the 600 and 1000 MPa strength levels.

    DX57 HyperForm is a premium formable steel grade with very good deep drawing and stretching properties in all directions.

    Mechanical properties

    Metallic coated steel for forming has the following mechanical properties.
    DX57-GI HyperForm properties are measured transverse to the rolling direction.
    CR DP800-GI HyperForm properties are measured parallel to the rolling direction.
    Property range is indicated according to EN 10346, but properties meet equivalent VDA 239-100 specifications also.

    1. If the yield point is not pronounced, the values apply to the 0.2% - proof strength Rp0.2 ; if the yield strength is pronounced, the values apply to the lower yield point ReL.
    2. Decreased minimum elongation values apply for product thickness t ≤ 0.50mm (minus 4 units) and for 0.50mm ≤ t ≤ 0.70mm (minus 2 units).
