  • Hot-rolled - Steel for forming

    Hot Rolled Strip Steel

Hot-rolled steel for cold forming is used for bending and deep drawing.

Tata Steel’s forming grades offer consistency for reliable processing and low carbon content for excellent welding performance. The optimised chemistry of Tata Steel grade DD14+ offers enhanced formability for complex components.

    • Ympress® for weight savings and component strength

Ympress® is Tata Steel’s hot-rolled HSLA product. It is highly formable and delivers weight savings and increased component strength. The result is lighter, stronger, more consistent products.

Ympress® adds value to automotive, lifting and excavating and shipbuilding applications, among others.

    • Direct rolled steel: optimising your processing

The Ymagine® range is available in five high-strength, low-alloy (HSLA) grades that are easy to process. H500, for example, offers excellent formability in strong, lightweight automotive components in gauges that are hard to produce in hot strip mills.

    • Heat-treatable steel

Tata Steel offers a choice of hot-rolled heat-treatable steel. Its chemical composition and the production processes we employ ensure robust, consistent products.

Our case-hardening steel is suitable for wear-resistant components that must bear extreme fatigue stress. Our high-carbon grades supplied in the ‘as-rolled’ untreated condition can be processed to meet specific requirements.

    Overview

Hot-rolled steel for cold forming is used for bending and deep drawing in a wide range of applications. The consistent quality of Tata Steel's forming grades ensures reliable processing.  All of our forming grades have a low carbon content for excellent welding performance.

DD13WR is particularly suitable for use in wheel rims because of its low aluminium content and controlled Mn:Si ratio. The low carbon content gives DD13WR excellent welding performance.
