Semi finished steel
At Tata Steel we produce a wide variety of semi-finished products in both bloom, billet and slab form.
Billets sizes range from 75 – 160mm, blooms in various sizes > 160mm and slabs 75/76mm thick x 180 – 470mm wide and 100mm thick x 200 – 470mm wide.
Steel types produced currently are rimmed substitute, balanced (semi-killed), low carbon killed, medium carbon, high carbon, freecutting, low alloy heat treatable, tyre wire and spring steels.
Freecutting steels
We are a major supplier of freecutting semi finished products specially designed for efficient, accurate and high speed machining of large volume engineering components.
Low alloy heat treatable steel
We supply three types of low alloy heat treatable steels for engineering applications as part of the range of semi finished products.
