Micro-alloyed Steels

We supply a wide range of Carbon and Carbon-Manganese steels alloyed with small amounts of elements such as Titanium, Niobium or Vanadium to enhance the base mechanical properties.

The properties of these grades are usually developed by controlled cooling after hot-working processes. These grades can also have controlled additions of Sulphur (and occasionally Tellurium) to improve the machinability of the grade.

Current standards which contain specifications for Micro-alloyed steel grades are BS EN 10025-3:2004 & BS EN 10025-4: 2004 (UK/EU)

Industry-specific grades include:>

  • C38, C38 Modified (includes Tellurium)
  • C42, C42 Modified (includes Tellurium)
  • 49MnVS6
  • VanardTM  series
  • HypressTM  series (for narrow strip products)

We can also work to two or more amalgamated specifications, where permitted by the scope of the individual analysis ranges, to meet multiple release requirements.
