From May 1st, 2009, we in Tata Steel Strip Products UK will supply to the revised European Standard, which supersedes the 1998 version. The key changes in the revised standard are listed below.

1. The new standard applies to products from 1mm to 11mm thick. The previous standard applied from 1.5mm to 8mm.

Customers requiring a product with a performance equivalent to that covered by the standard, but thicker than 11mm, should contact us for advice.

2. As the new edition of the standard also removed the minimum bend test radius, please contact us about the suitability of a product for a given application.

3. In the new standard, the following information is mandatory and you should provide it when ordering.

The standard, i.e. EN 10111 : 2008.
Steel grade, e.g. DD13.
Nominal dimensions
Order quantity
If inspection documents are required, and their type.
Any special packing and marking requirements.
Limits on weights and sizes of coils or bundles, or both.

Further optional specifications are available when you order. If you do not specify any options, we shall supply the basic specification.
