Technical Support

At Tata Steel Narrow Strip we have a dedicated technical team of experienced metallurgists and material engineers who can advise on material selection and help with identifying steel grades from most international standards.

In addition, the team can provide a problem solving service to advise on production issues, for example, increasing production runs, yield savings and lower cost raw material. We can also evaluate competitors products and investigate component failures.

Our facilities include an on-site laboratory for hardness, tensile and metallurgical testing and we also provide a chemical analysis checking service at our sister steelmaking facility.

We can also use the services of the Tata Steel Research, Development and Technology facility at the Swinden Technology Centre for sophisticated examinations using electron microscopy and other advanced techniques.
