Centre de Recherches Métallurgiques, Liège
The Centre de Recherches Métallurgiques (CRM) was founded in 1949 as a joint research centre for the iron and steel industry of the Benelux countries. At present, its major member companies are Arcelor and Tata Steel Europe; part of the work of CRM is now also devoted to SMEs.
IMMPETUS
IMMPETUS, the "Institute for Microstructural and Mechanical Process Engineering: The University of Sheffield", aims at providing scientific underpinning for the development of physically based models to be used in thermomechanical processing of metals, and is a major collaboration partner of Tata Steel's technology centres in the UK.

McGill Metals Processing Centre, Center for Iron and Steelmaking
Tata Steel RD&T is one of the "supporting companies" of the McGill Metals Processing Center that was established in in Quebec in 1990 and aims at an integrated approach to the modelling of liquid-solid metal processing operations.
NAMTEC
The National Metals Technology Centre, NAMTEC, is the UK’s research and skills centre for metals technology, helping to improve the competitiveness of the UK metals industry by stimulating high technology innovation and research and development. It provides a link between industry and academic research and provides information, research & development, programme management and training services.
University of Wales, Engineering Doctorate Centre
Tata Steel Europe participates in the Engineering Doctorate Scheme, which is a partnership between The University of Wales, the Engineering and Physics Research Council, and industry. The scheme gives graduates who aspire to key positions in industry the opportunity to gain experience in technical and engineering disciplines while pursuing doctorate research studies.
