  • Dr. Henrik Adam, Chief Commercial Officer

    Dr. Henrik Adam is the Chief Commercial Officer of Tata Steel Europe Limited.

    Born in Essen (Germany) in 1964, Henrik is a Mechanical Engineer, specialised in the field of Automotive Engineering, notably in the application of materials in vehicle design.

    In 2011, Henrik joined the Executive Committee of Tata Steel Europe as Chief Commercial Officer. In this role, he is responsible for the Commercial Function which includes core operational functions like Sales, Marketing, Customer Services, Business Planning, Supply Chain, Steel Procurement and Outbound Logistics. He also oversees a large network of Service/Distribution Centres and the Building Systems units of Tata Steel Europe across Mainland Europe and the UK/Ireland. Furthermore, he is in charge of the Regional Market & Sales Offices of Tata Steel which are located all over the globe.

    Since 2014, Henrik is leading the Customer Focus activities of Tata Steel Europe as the Executive Committee Champion in order to transform the company into a customer centric organisation.

    Before joining Tata Steel, Henrik acted as the CEO of ThyssenKrupp Electrical Steel and Member of the Board of Eisen- und Hüttenwerke AG, the stock exchange listed holding company for the tinplate and electrical steel businesses of ThyssenKrupp. Prior to this, he has held a wide range of responsibilities at ThyssenKrupp since 1998, including the Chairman of the Board of ThyssenKrupp Electrical Steel India Ltd., the Chairman of the Board of ThyssenKrupp Steel Japan, CTO of ThyssenKrupp Electrical Steel and Senior Vice President Sales and Engineering Auto, where he was responsible for global Automotive Sales, Customer Technical Service, application engineering and strategy.

    Up until December 2018, Henrik acted as a Director for EEF, the Manufacturer’s Organisation of Britain. He also has been the Chairman of WorldAutoSteel, the automotive group of the World Steel Association which successfully released multiple projects including UltraLight Steel Auto Body (ULSAB) and FutureSteelVehicle (FSV).

    Henrik started his career in 1991 as a scientist in vehicle safety technologies before he became Managing Director of a German engineering services consultancy company.
