    Within the EU Project HOTFORM some new steel grades for the hot forming process are designed and evaluated. In order to investigate the advantage of hot forming on sheet blanks with previously cut holes, the local formability at elevated temperatures at the edges’ hole was determined. Therefore, the hole tensile test is used to examine the edge-crack sensitivity of steels at working temperatures. For this reason various steel grades were examined like serial hot forming steel 22MnB5, two new DP steels and two new CP steels as well as their reference materials, all had ultimate tensile strengths up to 980 MPa.
