  • Tata Steel celebrates joint achievements with customers

    Tata Steel is using this year’s EuroBLECH to celebrate its industry-proven products, latest developments and services, as well as how it has evolved as a customer-focused company together with its clients.

    Customers can rely on technical expertise and innovation power, paired with a real understanding of their respective markets. This maximises yield, reduces waste, improves processing efficiency and is key to developing lighter components, better finishes and longer-lasting products.

    In this context Tata Steel highlights its latest additions to its HSLA Ympress® and Ympress Laser grades, which are highly formable and can be used efficiently for stronger and more consistent products for various industries. With Ymvit®, the company is an industry champion for the manufacture of enameling applications, while car manufacturers benefit from the highly formable high-strength HR CP800® and XPF® grades for lighter and more complex chassis components. The composite solution, Coretinium®, is the innovative customisable and ready-to-assemble flooring and sidewall material for buildings and trailers. The cold- and hot-formed hollow sections Hybox® and Celsius® offer higher strength, ideal for lighter and shape-consistent engineering and construction structures with new extensions like Hybox® TT.

     

    Providing a competitive edge to customers To achieve cutting-edge manufacturing efficiency and product quality Tata Steel also supports customers with smart technical services based on Early Vendor Involvement (EVI). Customers are closely accompanied at the early design stage of their products to help them get the best result from the material from the beginning. They can thereby optimise their total cost of ownership and improve sustainability throughout the entire product life cycle.

     

    A recent example of early collaboration is the component development for the test track of the new carbon-free transportation system, Hyperloop. Here, Tata Steel partners with other high-tech companies to overcome the technological challenges of creating a vacuum tube and maglev track, enabling the Hyperloop pod to travel almost at the speed of sound. After the mutual investigation on the requirements of the steel tube, Tata Steel now enters the prototype stage.
