Dedicated automotive service
Our automotive light gauge service centres in Germany and the Netherlands are dedicated to the supply of slit coils and cut-to-size sheets to the automotive industry. Two are located in North-West Germany in the Ruhr region (Gelsenkirchen) and near Dusseldorf (Neuss), the other is located in the South-East of The Netherlands (Maastricht).
These service centres are:
- located at or close to harbours
- geared towards processing advanced and ultra-high strength steel (AHSS/UHSS)
Our processing capability ensures we can meet customer demand for differentiated products that aid CO2 emission reduction, weight reduction and improvements in passenger safety. All of our products are manufactured to the highest automotive standards with a clear focus on continuous improvement (ISO TS16949).
Capacity and capability
Our service centres offer a total annual processing capacity of more than 700kt. All centres are equipped with state-of-the-art machinery for processing a range of steel coil comprising:
- hot-rolled
- cold-rolled
- Ymagine® direct rolled
- hot-dipped galvanised
- galvannealed
We process steel in widths up to 2m and in a thickness range of 0.3 up to 6.0mm. Our facility in Maastricht, the Netherlands, has two slitters, a multi-blanker and mini-blanker which can process steel coils with a maximum strength of 800N/mm² . The service centre in Gelsenkirchen, Germany, can process steel coils with a maximum yield strength of 1400N/mm² at maximum 2mm thickness. This centre has two slitters and a blanking line. The service centre in Neuss, Germany has two slitters and a blanking line and can process steel coils with a maximum yield strength of 700N/mm² at maximum 3mm thickness.

Steel processed at our service centres is used for a variety of modern automotive components used in;

- wheels
- seats
- interior
- body in white
We also process strip for outer panels (full finish).
