    Cold rolled steel: consistent, reliable products

    Our advanced and ultra high-strength cold-rolled steels DP600, DP800, DP1000 and HQ1500 are lightweight and enable design freedom for complex parts.

    Their high yield and ductility ensure shape accuracy and tolerancing, which enable thickness reduction and maintained in-service performance for difficult-to-form parts.

    Overview

    Use of our steels allows increased performance of finished components through using steel with an increased strength. Alternatively, we can help reduce the component weight using steel with a lower thickness without compromising performance. This can increase your output per tonne of steel. Our hot-rolled advanced high-strength steels include ferrite-bainite and hot forming steel grades.
     

    Ferrite-bainite - FB590

    Hot-rolled FB590 is a ferrite-bainite advanced high-strength steel offering excellent ductility and formability.

    It is particularly suited to automotive chassis and suspension applications where a combination of superior strength and fatigue performance is required on relatively complex shaped parts.

    FB590 offers a high hole expansion coefficient and high tensile strength – ideal for components with a significant amount of edge stretching. The tensile strength levels deliver excellent fatigue resistance as an additional benefit.

     

    HR XPF800-UC and HR XPF1000-UC

    HR XPF800-UC and HR XPF1000-UC combine high strength with good fatigue resistance, outperforming HSLA and multiphase products of equivalent strength levels, due to their outstanding hole expansion capacity (HEC) and a far superior elongation.

     

    Hot forming steel - HQ1500

    Our die quenched hot forming steel HQ1500 is a hot-rolled ultra high-strength steel. It enables an excellent degree of shape accuracy and mechanical performance. Its ultra high strength delivers significant benefits– especially when it comes to weight saving. By switching to HQ1500 from high-strength low-alloy or dual phase steels, designers can reduce the material gauge - creating stronger, lighter structures.

    We can supply our hot forming steel in either an ‘as rolled’ dry condition or pickled and oiled. The ‘as rolled’ condition is suitable for forming both prior to or during heat and quenching treatments. The steel’s hardness properties after heat treatment make it highly suitable for applications requiring high wear resistance.

    This section is provided in metric units to align with Automotive specification formats.
