Our aim is to shape sustainable societies and foster thriving communities, by contributing to society and respecting our surroundings.
The communities surrounding our sites want us to be a good neighbour, and we take this long-held responsibility very seriously. We strive to operate in a way which is safe and minimises environmental impact, creating a healthy and beneficial environment for those living near us.
In the Netherlands we provide many thousands of people with jobs and the skills to make the sustainable products which society needs. As an employer we contribute to the national and regional economies and stimulate regional employment. We also take part in various advisory boards, federations and regional organisations.
In the IJmond region, Tata Steel stimulates and supports cultural, social, educational & sports activities and events. This is part of our sponsorship and donations program. An example is the international Tata Steel Chess Tournament in Wijk aan Zee that we organize for more than 80 years.
