Tata Steel Colors has been a global leader in the development and manufacture of pre-finished steels for almost half a century. Tata Steel Packaging
Tata Steel Packaging is a supplier of light gauge steel for packaging and non-packaging applications, with headquarters based in IJmuiden, Netherlands and other production plants in the Netherlands (IJmuiden), South Wales (Trostre) and Belgium (Duffel). Tata Steel Packaging is a dedicated team committed to working in partnership with customers to help streamline business chains and focus on providing innovative solutions. We supply various steel grades and finishes to all kind of packaging applications to deliver a wide and robust range of containment, preservation and dispensing
Strip Products UK
Our Strip Products UK business operates in both Port Talbot and Llanwern in South Wales. Port Talbot makes steel and, together with Llanwern, rolls it into strips. Llanwern then applies metallic coatings to the strips to protect the steel against corrosion. Hot-dip galvanised steels made at Llanwern have a zinc coating that offers excellent protection and can be used in a wide range of applications.
Tata Steel Tubes are an integral component in a wide range of construction, energy and engineering projects across the globe. We manufacture welded steel tubes to fit a myriad of specifications, big and small and using all grades of steel, but all are produced to the same exacting standards of precision and quality. Our steel tubes are developed to meet the specific performance requirements of the construction, transport and pressure containment, energy and engineering industries and can be found in a diverse range of end products.
Tata Steel UK Limited and its associated companies (“Tata Steel”, “we”, “our” or “us”) collect and process personal data relating to job applicants. We are committed to being transparent about how we collect and use that data and to meeting our data protection obligations.
We collect a range of information about you in order to consider your application for employment. This includes:
• Your name, address, contact details, including email address and telephone number;
• Details of your qualifications, skills, experience and employment history;
• Information about your current level of remuneration, including benefit entitlements;

We collect this information in a variety of ways. For example, data might be contained in application forms, CVs, obtained from your passport or other identity documents, or collected through interviews or other forms of assessment [including tests].

Purposes for processing personal data
We need to process personal data to take steps at your request prior to entering into a contract with you. We also need to process data so that we may enter into a contract with you.
In some cases, we need to process data to ensure that we are complying with legal obligations. For example, we are required to check a successful applicant’s eligibility to work in the UK before employment starts.
We have a legitimate interest in processing personal data during the recruitment process and for keeping records of the process. Processing data from job applicants allows us to manage the recruitment process, assess and confirm an applicant’s suitability for employment and to decide to whom employment should be offered. We may also need to process data from job applicants to respond to and defend legal claims.

We will not use your data for any purpose other than the recruitment exercise for which you have applied and, we will keep your personal data on file in case there are future employment opportunities for which you may be suited. Access to data
Your data will be shared internally for the purposes of the recruitment exercise. This may include members of the HR team, Occupational Health, interviewers involved in the recruitment process, managers in the business area with a vacancy and IT staff if access to the data is necessary for the performance of their role.
We will not share your data with third parties, unless your application for employment is successful and we make you an offer of employment. We will then share your data with former employers to obtain references for you, employment background check providers to obtain necessary background checks and the Disclosure and Barring Service to obtain necessary criminal records checks.
We will not transfer your data outside of the European Economic Area.
Data retention period
Your personal data will be kept by us for the following durations:
Application records and associated files (including CVs, letters, emails, comment and feedback) will be anonymized 2 years after the vacancy is archived.
Candidate account - you can, at any time, choose to close your account. This will:
• remove your ability to login to the account
• withdraw any active applications
• delete partially-completed applications which haven’t been submitted
• disable the automatic sending of job alerts
Closed accounts are deleted and cannot be restored, however previously submitted applications will be retained until deletion for the period described above.
Candidate accounts that are active will remain in the system unless the candidate deletes them (or makes a request for deletion). An account will become inactive if the user has not logged in for two years. All inactive accounts will be anonymized for deletion.
Protection of data
We take your data protection rights and our legal obligations seriously. Your personal information will be treated in a secure and confidential manner. We have internal policies and controls in place to ensure that your data is not lost, accidentally destroyed, misused or disclosed and not accessed except by our employees in the proper performance of their duties.
If your application for employment is successful, personal data gathered during the recruitment process will be transferred to your personal file and retained during your employment. A separate Fair Processing Notice relevant to employee data will apply to you.
As a data subject, you have a number of rights. You can:
• Access and obtain a copy of your data on request;
• Require us to change incorrect or incomplete data;
• Require us to delete or stop processing your data (for example, where the data is no longer necessary for the purposes of the processing)
• Object to the processing of your data where we are relying upon our legitimate interests as the legal ground for processing; and
• Ask us to stop processing data for a period if data is inaccurate or there is a dispute about whether or not your interests override our legitimate interests for processing data.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, in particular the Information Commissioner in the UK, if you consider that the processing of your personal information infringes applicable law.
