Your relationship with Tata Steel IJmuiden
From 30 July 2020, EU regulations require additional employment conditions to apply to posted workers. There are some additional obligations for foreign employers who post workers to companies in the Netherlands such as Tata Steel in IJmuiden. All posted workers must be registered with the government through the system set up for this purpose by the government.
For more information about the Posting of Workers Directive, the notification procedure and what is required of you as a (main) contractor, please visit www.detacheerders.nl.
You can also find some guidance and information in the folders on this page to support you in making a notification, please read these and act where necessary.
Non-compliance with the Posted Workers Directive means that your posted workers cannot come on site to carry out their planned activities.
Through the website detachers.nl, employers abroad and relevant self-employed persons from the EU, EEA or Switzerland with a temporary assignment in the Netherlands can make an online notification.
The website also provides information on the posting of workers to the Netherlands.
We speak of 'posting' when an employer abroad from the EU, EEA or Switzerland posts its employee(s) to the Netherlands for a temporary secondment or assignment at a Dutch service recipient.
For questions regarding a posting of employees at Tata Steel in IJmuiden, please send an e-mail to postworkers@tatasteeleurope.com.

Attendance areas are agreed places on the site to which emergency services are directed in the event of calamities such as accidents and fire.
These attendance areas can be recognised by a white sign with a red edge and a number in red.
Call +31 (0)2514 55555 in the event of a fire or accident!
In the event of a fire or accident, the call must always be made 5 x 5. From an outside line or GSM this is +31 (0) 251-455555. You will then reach the communications room directly. There are several lines available for this alarm number so you will always get someone on the line.
What is the minimum information you must provide?
1. Do you want a fire brigade or an ambulance?
2. What has happened?
3. Where did it happen, name the nearest emergency response location
What else should I do?
Beware of danger and your own safety!
1. Inform the department
2. Arrange for emergency services to be received at the designated turn-out point to provide information
3. If there is an accident:
- Find out what happened
- Find out what is wrong with the victim
- Reassure the victim
- Arrange for professional help
- Help the victim where he lies
4. You may still be able to extinguish an incipient fire with the small extinguishers present.
5. When the emergency services have arrived, tell them what has happened
When reporting an emergency to the Tata Steel IJmuiden emergency number and requesting assistance from a fire brigade or ambulance, the number of the appropriate emergency location should be given and someone should be waiting there to escort the emergency services to the scene of the incident/accident.
Attendance areas
Assembly areas are intended for the collection of personnel after an evacuation order has been issued. This is also the only function of Gathering Points. Whether in the factory or in an office, after the evacuation signal has sounded, all personnel must always go to the assembly point.
Always report to the assembly point!
At the assembly point everyone will be checked to see if everyone is out of the installation or the building. In the event of a fire or bomb threat, it is very important for the emergency services to know that no one has remained in the installation or building. If they are not sure, the fire brigade will have to enter the building to search further. So always report!
The evacuation signal is a so-called slow whoop signal, which increases in frequency from 900 Hz to 1200 Hz in 3.5 seconds, stops for 0.5 seconds and then starts again.
This cycle (total time 16 sec.) is repeated 5 times, is then at rest for 3 min. and repeats itself.
The "All clear" signal is a long-drawn-out tone of a fixed frequency.
For the way to respond to this signal, refer to the local evacuation plans.
