In October 2017, Tata Steel re-launched its Colorcoat Prisma® product by hosting a variety events for its direct customers, architects and designers. Tata Steel received the Manufacturing & Industrial Event of the Year award for its ‘World of Colour’ architectural event and Best Use of Small Budget award for its customer launch event. What’s more, it also won the Grand Prix award of the evening, which was created to honour a company the judges felt has proven outstanding excellence in the MICE industry.

To win not just one, but three awards at the C&IT Awards was completely unexpected; we were up against some large global players, so to win these three awards is real testament to the successful events we delivered, which was not only demonstrated in the feedback we received from the attendees, but now by these independent awards. What’s more, the fact we won the Grand Prix award is fantastic news. This category could not be entered directly, so we were chosen by the judges for this award, based purely on our two entries. It’s great to receive this recognition, as a testament to the whole team at Tata Steel throughout Europe who put a lot of hard work and effort into the success of the product development and launch.

The ‘World of Colour’ event, which was held at the RIBA North Architectural Centre in Liverpool, was created by Tata Steel to deliver an insight and thought-provoking discussion about different perspectives on colour within the construction industry, which supported the brand message about the new three-layer Colorcoat Prisma® product.

Throughout the event which included architects from UK, Netherlands, Belgium and Germany, key industry speakers provided interesting thoughts and knowledge about colour. Speakers included Karen Haller, a leading colour psychology practitioner, Matt Teague, architect and marketing project manager at Tata Steel, Ged Couser from BDP architectural practice, who gave an inspiring insight into the use of colour in the award winning Alder Hey Children’s Hospital and Dr. Peter Barker, new product development manager at Tata Steel. Following the event, Tata Steel ensured follow up meetings with attending architects, all of which praised the company for a great day, which also included a talk and private tour of the Liverpool waterfront on the Razzle Dazzle Mersey ferry.

Tata Steel’s customer event was an exclusive day for key supply chain partners. The day involved an interactive overview of the new Colorcoat Prisma® range, a tour of its manufacturing plant and an afternoon of entertainment, including an interactive 3D experience, a classic Jaguar driving activity and an evening BBQ reception.

Tata Steel’s new generation three-layer Colorcoat Prisma® pre-finished steel, offers superior ultraviolet (UV) resistance and durability. The latest evolution is based on revolutionary three-layer technology that delivers greatly enhanced aesthetics with superior colour and gloss retention. The new Colorcoat Prisma® product also pushes the boundaries of pre-finished steel and is available with an extended Confidex® Guarantee for up to 40 years.
