HRH Prince Charles visits Teesside Cast Products

Kirby Adams and Jon Bolton hosted His Royal Highness Prince Charles and a delegation from Business in the Community, one of The Prince’s Charities, at Teesside Cast Products during a tour of Teesside today.

The Prince was introduced to current and former Corus employees, Trade Union representatives, members of the TCP Resource Centre as well as a delegation from the Teesside Corus Response Group, led by One North East Chief Executive Alan Clarke.

Kirby Adams said: “Prince Charles’ visit to Teesside has provided a very welcome and worthwhile opportunity for me and my colleagues at Corus to discuss with other business leaders the economic problems that the Tees Valley faces. We’ve heard useful and insightful comment about the need to focus on education and to build up the region’s skills base so Teessiders are as well placed as possible to take advantage of economic recovery. This country urgently needs to bring about a revival in its manufacturing industries if it is to create a new ‘great society’ with a more balanced economic future.”
