    DSAW pipe
    Our DSAW line pipe is available in sizes from 16 inches to 84 inches in diameter. It is capable of withstanding extreme hydrostatic pressures in deepwater environments and carrying pipeline bundles safely out for offshore installation.

    For high-pressure, high-temperature applications our range of pipe in pipe products maintains optimum temperatures for the transportation of multi-phase oil and gas. Our pipe in pipe products help to enhance flow rates and deliver reliability in service.

    OCTG
    Tata Steel manufactures unthreaded casing tube and conductor pipe at its HFI and SAW pipe mills in Hartlepool, UK. Regular production rolling ensures timely delivery for our customers.

    Process pipe
    Tata Steel has an extensive record in supplying DSAW pipe to the petrochemical, refinery and power generation industries in 18 inch to 84 inch diameters. Our pipe mill has the ability to supply small multi-item packages or larger project requirements. We also offer 100% weld radiography and full body heat treatment options.

    Offshore Processing Centre
    Steel line pipe and tubulars can be cut to size, welded, profiled and coated ready for fabrication into offshore structures such as jacket foundations for offshore wind turbines or subsea pipelines.

    Wind Tower Hub
    Steel plate can be supplied cut to size with edges prepared ready for welding into wind turbine tower structures.

    Water mains/outfalls

    Steel pipes with welded joints have long been used in the construction of large diameter trunk mains. We supply welded pipe systems, coated and lined to ensure a long and trouble-free service life.

    'UOE' Double submerged arc welded (DSAW) line pipe

    Our DSAW pipe provides pipelines for some of the most hostile environments including deepwater and sour service. It is also used for dynamic fatigue applications.  DSAW pipe is produced at our 42" pipe mill at Hartlepool in north-east England. The mill is equipped with the strongest edge crimping & ‘O’ press facilities in the world. This enables us to produce DSAW line pipe offering:

    • the widest choice of design options
    • exacting tolerances to reduce the cost of your downstream activities

    With an annual production capacity of around 300,000 tonnes, our mill delivers DSAW pipe in:

    • strength grades up to API 5L X80
    • diameters from 16 inches to 42 inches (406.4mm-1067mm OD)
    • thicknesses up to 50mm

    Applications for our DSAW pipe are:

    • oil and gas pipelines - both onshore and offshore (including reeled installation)
    • conductor and carrier pipe for the energy industries
    • tubular piling for jetties
    • berthing dolphins

     

    '3 Roll Bend Double' Submerged arc welded ('D'SAW) pipe 

    Tata Steel’s 84" pipe mill at Hartlepool in north-east England manufactures submerged arc welded (DSAW) pipe for use in a wide range of applications. With an annual production capacity of around 30,000 tonnes, our mill delivers DSAW pipe in:

    • strength grades up to API 5L X60
    • diameters from 18 inches to 84 inches (457mm-2134mm OD)
    • thicknesses up to 30mm

    Our DSAW pipe is used in:

    • the oil and gas industries
    • petrochemical processing
    • power generation
    • trunk mains for the water industry
    • long sea outfalls
    • onshore and offshore structural applications

     

    High frequency induction (HFI) welded pipe

    We manufacture HFI welded pipe at our 20" pipe mill at Hartlepool in north-east England. The mill boasts the world’s most powerful HFI welding equipment - making it a premier quality pipe supplier. The 20"pipe mill has produced pipelines for some of the most onerous applications including in deepwater and has unrivalled global experience in reeled installation. 

    Our mill has an overall annual production capacity of around 250,000 tonnes. With a fully integrated supply chain - from steel manufacture to final pipe manufacture, including coatings - the flexibility of our HFI pipe offering is well suited to challenges of the onshore and offshore project environment.   

    We deliver HFI welded pipe in:

    • strength grades up to API 5L X70
    • toughness to 40 Joules minimum at -20°C
    • diameters from 8 inches to 20 inches (219.1mm - 508mm OD)
    • thicknesses of 4mm - 16mm

    Applications for our HFI welded pipe are:
