(Steel) Heroes all around

Acts of kindness can be found across all of our sites, and the #steelheroes from across the business are going the extra mile to help their fellow keyworkers during these unprecedented times.

James Adams, Manufacturing Team Member at our Corby 6” Mill, has been honing his 3D printing skills, and has to date produced over 300 face shields for local care workers and the NHS in his free time.

James had his own 3D printer and had been using his own money to produce face shields. When colleagues found out about his endeavor, they suggested opening a donation page, to which he has had many donations already.

James said “I’ve received over £400 in various donations, along with cash donations from family, friends, management and colleagues which has been absolutely brilliant and helped to cover the material costs. Once the need for face shields comes to an end, I’m planning to donate any remaining monies to the Corby Urgent Care Centre. However, until such time, I’ll just keep making and donating as many face shields as possible”.
