Tata Steel to attend Procurex Wales Live 2016

Supported by the National Procurement Service (NPS), Value Wales, Sell2Wales, WCVA and Business Wales, Procurex Wales Live 2016 will provide delegates, both buyers and suppliers, with a unique opportunity to collaborate, showcase innovation and enhance knowledge and procurement skills. In addition it will be an opportunity to share best practice; in order to meet today’s challenge of delivering smarter procurement.

Tata Steel will be featured in the “Steel Zone” and will be showcasing how we can help deliver value and bring innovation to public sector infrastructure and construction projects.

Barry Rust, Energy and Sustainability Manager, Tata Steel Europe will be presenting on “Building responsible supply chains” in the supplier skills development and infrastructure zone at 14.10 to 14.30. Many construction professionals believe that responsible sourcing is one of the most important agenda items on the construction sustainability agenda. Reducing and mitigating the impact of the materials we use in construction followed by reducing the impact of the building itself are the two key stages in delivering a sustainable change in our industry. Responsible sourcing is a key that can unlock this change.

During this seminar Barry will explain Tata Steel’s approach to responsible sourcing and how steel can be the ‘engine’ of the circular economy.

This one-day event that takes place on the 6th October 2016 is designed specifically for public and private sector personnel and organisations engaged within the public procurement marketplace and will host a range of interactive features, including networking sessions.
