Recorded live from London, Tata Steel has published the latest episode of its "SteelCast" podcast series that focuses on decarbonising the UK steel industry.

This episode features interviews with politicians who met steelworkers at a rally outside the Houses of Parliament to call for a level playing field and government investment to decarbonise the UK steel industry.

Host Tim Rutter follows the rally from Trafalgar Square, down Whitehall, past 10 Downing Street to the Houses of Parliament where steelworkers from Tata Steel, British Steel, Celsa, Liberty, Marcegaglia and Sheffield Forgemasters gathered to call on the government to invest in the UK steel industry and underpin UK manufacturing.

In the podcast which features on the usual channels as well as on YouTube, Tim spoke to politicians including Ed Miliband, Stephen Kinnock, Jonny Reynolds, Bill Esterson and Mark Tami.

He also got the views of General Secretaries of the main steel unions, Sharon Graham from Unite and Roy Rickhuss of Community

"The response to the rally was overwhelmingly positive." said Tim, "not only from members of the public, but from every politician and media outlet we spoke to."

He added: "The knowledge and passion of the steelworkers who joined the rally from across the UK is unparallelled - they are doing everything they possibly can to stand up for steel and protect the industry and the jobs in the communities in which they live."

This is the 24th episode of the podcast series in which experts from inside and outside Tata Steel discuss the challenges and opportunities of decarbonisation, the potential technical solutions, and the need for collaboration between industry, government, academia, supply chains and communities.
