A brighter, greener future

Tata Steel at EuroBLECH 2022 (Stand A78, Hall 17)

25th - 28th October 2022, Hannover Exhibition Grounds in Germany.

The steel industry is transitioning towards a clean, green and circular future – Tata Steel is innovating for tomorrow and ready for today.

After a break due to the pandemic, EuroBLECH is back, creating space once again for networking, expert conversations and collaboration. Join us on a journey that starts in the present and leads us to the future. You will be able to talk to our experts about innovation and trends and developments in the world of steel.

Our exhibition strapline summarises it in a nutshell: "Let's talk about the future" - we would very much like to get back into conversation with you, our customers, business partners and visitors to the exhibition and warmly welcome you to our stand.

In a world focused on decarbonisation, steel is part of the solution

The world as we know it is going through enormous transition and it can be felt everywhere. Societal demand for CO2 abatement is growing daily with the pressure to take action now.

That's why Tata Steel continues to innovate for tomorrow, while taking all the necessary effort to making a positive impact today.

At EuroBLECH we’ll be happy to update you on the product developments and innovations we’ve been working on such as MagiZinc® for solar energy applications, Hilumin® for EV batteries, steel developments for linepipe, wind turbines and much more.  In addition we’ll be sharing our newest digital innovations such as our Nexus digital platform.

On a journey to a more sustainable future

The energy transition in industry is happening and  Tata Steel is on a journey itself to decarbonisation. Tata Steel Netherlands has recently made its first initial investment of 65 million Euros for the design of a new hydrogen-based steel production plant that is planned to be operational by 2030. Further we are now offering green steel products today such as ZeremisTM. Short for zero emissions, Zeremis is our promise to the planet to become carbon neutral by 2045.  Being a green steel solution, Zeremis Carbon Lite is a certificate-based low carbon emission steel that offers the potential of up to net-zero reduction in CO2 intensity. By purchasing Carbon Lite, CO2 savings can be reported on scope 3 emissions.

Meanwhile Tata Steel UK is formally adopting Science Based Targets (SBTi) with respect to its programme of emission reductions and net zero aspirations. This will include decarbonising every aspect of the business from procurement of raw materials and energy, to our iron and steelmaking at Port Talbot and through our downstream coating, tube-making and further processing operations, and logistics. The adoption of SBTi provides a validated way of reaching net-zero carbon by 2045, measuring our progress according to robust and agreed measurement processes.
